Carli du Toit, RCC
Online Clinical Counselling Services
Welcome,
My name is Carli and my passion in counselling is co-creating therapeutic relationships that offer a safe space for transformative and reparative relational experiences. I strongly believe that the quality of our relationships and our perceived connection to our community play an integral part in our mental and emotional health.
Being in relationship and in community with others is where we establish our sense of safety, belonging, access support, and often find our purpose. However, for so many of us, relationships and community are precisely where we have experienced deep hurt, oppression, abuse, isolation, and despair.
When our relational injuries occur very early in life, it can compromise our comfort level in relationships, our ability to tolerate and regulate our emotions, and manage our nervous system reactivity. Therefore, my hope is that therapy can be a starting point for you to uncover and explore all the emotions, experiences, and parts of you that have felt too painful or vulnerable to navigate on your own.
My Areas of Focus
Relational & Developmental Trauma
I help people who grew up in emotionally unavailable or chaotic environments learn to feel safe, connected, and confident in their relationships and in themselves.
EMotion Regulation & Relationship Patterns
When emotions feel overwhelming or relationships start to feel unstable, it can be hard to trust yourself or others. I help people slow down, make sense of their reactions, and find new ways of relating that feel more secure and steady.
Life Transitions & Identity Work
Change often stirs up old patterns and uncertainty about who we are or how we fit in. In therapy, we’ll explore the parts of you that are shifting, grieving, or growing, and help you navigate these changes with compassion.
Mood disorders
Mood changes often reflect deeper layers of our emotional world, unmet needs, unprocessed grief, or disconnection from ourselves or others. In therapy, we’ll make sense of these experiences together, helping you understand what your emotions are trying to communicate.
